About us

OK, so my name is Ilan and I share my life with these three beautiful girls: My dear wife Tzili, our precious baby Yarden and our eldest daughter Petel, who is incidentally, a mixed red Pincher.

My wife Tzili is studying for her PHD in Neuro-Science in the Tel-Aviv University, conducting a research on fruit bats, and I, the eternal geek keep myself occupied with different technological projects, mainly around radio devices, mobile applications and web projects.

How this project began

This whole treasure hunt thing started about a year and a half ago, while I was still working for a high-tech company, when my good friend Avi told me about this website he created offering a game for kids. The idea that you could start such a website on yourself, with virtually zero funds captivated me. Tzili and I talked about creating a fun website which will offer some automation to help parents, and finally we came up with the treasure hunt idea. I was always as a kid fascinated with treasure hunt games, they seem so exciting to me. At that time we went to a trip to Kenya, so I had a month to think about this while I was away from a computer (or a hot shower), and when we got back from Kenya, I started working to create this website, as a hobby, and Tzili helped me with the content and graphics.

Work and reward

With time, we've learned that keeping this kind of website isn't easy, and there's a lot to learn besides programming the code and creating the content. I have spent many, many (many) hours on it, and quite a few sleepless nights as well. I learned a lot about internet technologies, marketing and promotion. But with the hard work, came great reward. If you get to think of it, very few people get the chance to think up a great idea, bring it to life and actually have people buy it and enjoy it. I have worked in jobs that offered me great compensation, but this is the first time I got this kind of satisfaction. Some of the puzzles on this website are new and unique types of puzzles which I thought up and can't be found anywhere else. It is so rewarding to hear that kids enjoyed these puzzles. I definitely recommend to anyone to start a small, family business and put their hearts into it. It is the best hobby ever.

I have since done several other projects, but this website will forever be my baby, and dearest to my heart. We are eager to hear how we can improve it, so if you have any feedback for us, please do write to us. Our blog

The blog is quite new, and the general ideas is to gather up different ideas on how to have fun, good family activities with your kids, either for birthdays or just in daily life, it is mostly about arts and crafts, games and pastime. It is 100% non-promotional, and I hope it will grow and grow until it contains hundreds of great ideas. I think parents nowadays are very busy, and they need a lot of good advice and help with ideas for spending quality time with their kids away from the computer and TV.
